‘Barbenheimer’ is a combination of the titles of the films. As a result of the dramatic contrast between Barbie – a fantasy comedy by Greta Gerwig about Barbie – and Oppenheimer – Christopher Nolan’s epic biographical drama about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, scientific director of the Manhattan Project, which developed the first nuclear bombs during Second World War – raised a comedic reaction from Internet users. Polygon entertainment website described the two movies as “extreme opposites”, and Variety magazine called the phenomenon “the movie event of the year”.

The Barbenheimer phenomenon, which began as a rivalry, turned into an Internet meme related to counterprogramming.
As the release date approached, audiences suggested watching the films as a double feature as well as what order to watch them in, and performers in both films encouraged audiences to watch them on the same day. Among the celebrities who participated in this trend was the American actor Tom Cruise, who purchased tickets to see both films. Both films were highly acclaimed and did better than expected at the box office.

Some writers have pointed out similarities between the two films despite their apparent differences. The two films are produced by a husband-and-wife production company, both have an Oscar-nominated director and a massive ensemble cast, and both explore the theoretical notion of the Anthropocene.

To create these tables, the SimpleGhar team first pulled together lists of all Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Disney+, and Netflix originals from Wikipedia, excluding upcoming shows and movies, as well as reality shows, documentaries, stand-ups, and podcasts. Co-productions and continuations were also discounted.

Then they translated titles into multiple languages using Wikipedia interlanguage links.

Finally, the team used the Ahrefs tool to isolate the film with the highest number of monthly searches in each nation. They dropped the entries with fewer than 1,000 monthly searches.

The SimpleGhar team also revised the data for searches where the term could be considered too generic or unrelated. For instance, the query “greyhound” was replaced by “greyhound movie” since the original one can also refer to the bus company or dog breed.

The data was collected in June 2022.

Protect My Paws studied Twitter data to identify which cities and U.S. states tweet the most about abandoned dog poop.

Protect My Paws made a list of poop-related keywords (e.g., “dog poo”, “dog poop”, “dog litter”, “stepped in poo”, “poo bag”, “poo bags”, “dog fouling”).

Then, using Twitter API, they analyzed and extracted tweets featuring those words, removing locations other than the United States or the United Kingdom.

The team extrapolated data to determine the numbers for an entire year. Protect My Paws then compared the number of tweets with population figures and ranked the cities in both the U.S. and U.K.

As those figures continue to grow, finance experts at Top Dollar want to uncover the biggest earners around the world in 2021.

Top Dollar compiled the top 20 podcasts in individual countries across both Spotify and Apple lists using Chartable. Then the team found the selected podcasts on Castbox and recorded the number of plays, number of overall episodes, and the number of episodes in the last 12 months.
Following the calculation that Castbox sees about 2% of overall plays, Top Dollar multiplied the number of plays by 50 and calculated the number of plays by episode. The team estimated the potential earnings in the last 12 months by assuming three 60 second ads per episode and taking CPM values from AdvertiseCast. In a new study, S Money identified the most-streamed song by a native artist in every country and calculated its worth to find out.

The research team used data from Kworb to identify the most-streamed song by artists from each country. With the final list in hand, they then visited the artist’s profile on Spotify and recorded the global streaming number for their most famous song.

Finally, they estimated the song’s total earnings by multiplying the number of streams and multiplied it by $0.0049 (the per-stream pay-out estimate from Digital Music News).
