Where Wheat, Maize, and Rice Are Grown 🌾🌽🍚

This short animation shows where the world’s wheat, maize, and rice are grown. You’ll see the huge wheat fields that stretch across Eurasia, the maize regions in the Americas, and the rice paddies that feed much of Asia. The map is based on data from the SPAM 2020 V2r0 dataset (IFPRI, 2025). It’s a simple way to compare where each crop is strongest and where they share the same ground.
