New Zealand Losing Its Coolest Mountain Climates 1930-2099

New Zealand's mountain climate zones are vanishing. Cool-summer oceanic (Cfc) disappears from North Island. Tundra (ET) vanishes from Southern Alps peaks. Subarctic zones (Dfc) shrink dramatically. This short shows changes from 1930 to 2099 using Köppen-Geiger data at 1km resolution (Beck et al. 2023, ssp2-4.5). Alpine climates retreating upslope and disappearing.
