This video maps annual tea and mate consumption per person by country in 2023, using FAOSTAT Food Balance Sheet data in kilograms per capita per year, then shows how that figure shifted from 2010 to 2023. Sri Lanka leads at 51.69 kg (114.0 lbs) per person per year. Turkiye grew from 2.82 kg (6.2 lbs) in 2010 to 19.98 kg (44.0 lbs) in 2023, one of the sharpest per capita gains among established tea markets. Vietnam reached 10.41 kg (23.0 lbs) from just 0.72 kg (1.6 lbs). Argentina's high per capita figure reflects yerba mate rather than Camellia sinensis. Russia, the United Kingdom, and several Middle Eastern countries declined. Read more: https://vividmaps.com/tea-consumption-by-country/ Looking for great teas?
