Turkish people respect European technology and science. However, they know that Europe historically thinks of the Turks as “others.”
That’s why most Turkish people don’t believe in European politicians and European policies. Most Turks have negative opinions about the European Union and think the EU is about to collapse.
Below are maps showing how Turkey sees the countries of Europe.

Turkey is still seeing in Europe with the hurt of centuries. Those feeling close to Ottomans feel offense due to being cornered by European powers’ imperialism.
The map below shows Europe and neighboring countries according to the history curriculum educated in public schools in Turkey.

Turkish History education is centered on the Ottomans and the Establishing of Turkey. World War II is almost compiled in one of two pages for most of the students. And history after 1945 is nearly missing for a lot of students. You can assume that by looking at some nations.
