Facts:
– In New York, the only fox allowed is the Fennec fox (Vulpes zerda).
– Virginia allows all colors of red fox (Vulpes vulpes) except those with a natural red coloration, which, along with gray foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus), can only be possessed for fur-farming purposes.
– Wisconsin doesn’t require a license for the red fox, but it does for all others; whereas Illinois requires a license, except for the Fennec fox.
– Pennsylvania in particular has extreme requirements from those who wish to receive a permit, and it may be that they are no longer even giving permits out.
– Kentucky is in an even tougher spot, as though it is technically legal to possess a fox, they cannot be imported into the state, and there are no places to get them within the state.
