Blue cheeses of France (production areas)

Blue Cheese close connects with the Massif Central (uplands in South-Central France).

The Massif Central is the heartland of french blue cheese, where Roquefort and Bleu d’Auvergne are produced. These two are seemingly the most well-known blue cheeses in French households. Blue cheese was produced there since at least the XI century.

Blue cheeses can be found in other parts of France and other European nations (stilton in England, gorgonzola in Italy, and others)
