I dispute the claims … I see this location in films (almost every westerns), car advertising 3 times a day CURRENTLY: OWENS VALLEY, CA and particularly the area east of Mount Whitney and west of the Inyo (White) Mountains in and around Lone Pine, CA. It may not be credited, but I grew up there and my family lived in an old mining ghost town in Dolomite, CA. It extends all the way down through Red Rock Canyon near the preset day town of Mojave, CA. and to the north into Mono County and Alpine County south of Minden, Nev.
