The History of Africa: Every Year

This video will show the entire history of Africa from the 50th century BCE to 2016. Due to the extreme timescales, the Iron Age and the years preceding it cannon be shown every year, although every year is shown from 600 CE.

Impressive though this project obviously is, I’m sorry but it’s been mis-titled. It is not really “the history of Africa”, it’s simply a record of when western Europeans “discovered” (and then made a record of) particular parts of it. To say otherwise implies that no ‘history’ was ongoing in the vast swaths of the continent shown in white on your map. Or are you saying those regions remained uninhabited before the date they magically acquired a name and their history only started from that date? As you know, history can be verbal too.
