The map below shows the similarities between different countries based on various indicators, using the t-SNE machine learning algorithm.
t-SNE is a machine learning algorithm that can visually group similar data points together without knowing anything about the actual data. Think of every country as a data point that has a number of properties, t-SNE will search for local and global similarities between the countries and place closer to each other on this map.
Every bubble is a country representing various indicators, such as Population, GDP, GINI index, Happy Planet Index, etc.
Different colors represent different continents, the size of a bubble is related to the population of its country. You will be able to change this later.
