Countries receiving significant foreign direct investment (FDI) often benefit from increased economic growth, job creation, technology transfer, and infrastructure development.
Based on the most recent findings from Coordinated Direct Investment Survey of International Monetary Fund, the leading beneficiaries of foreign direct investment as of the conclusion of 2021 comprised the following nations: the United States, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, China, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Ireland, Switzerland, and Germany.
The US is now the leading destination worldwide for foreign direct investment (FDI), with China coming in third.
If we look at foreign direct investment as a share of GDP, the ranking is topped by other countries.
Positioned at the forefront, Luxembourg consistently draws considerable FDI as a percentage of GDP. Its allure is rooted in favorable tax policies, a robust financial services sector, and its strategic position within Europe.
