Jean Béliveau (born August 18, 1955) is a Quebec walker who traveled around the world in 11 years, more precisely in 4,077 days. He made this march in the framework of the International Decade for the Promotion of a Culture of Non-Violence and Peace for the Children of the World. Its march has been recognized by Unesco.
Jean Béliveau left on the day of his 45th birthday, on August 18, 2000, in Montreal. It concluded its journey on October 16, 2011, 4,077 days later and after traveling 75,563 kilometers in 64 countries.

During his journey:
– He was operated urgently on the prostate in 2005, in Algeria;
– He used 54 pairs of shoes during his journey;
– He skipped Libya as he was unable to obtain a visa to enter the country;
– He was not allowed to enter Pakistan due to a state of emergency at that time;
– He was denied permission by the Indian government to approach the India-China border and instead flew to Chengdu;
– His budget was 4000$ a year of expenses.
