Benedikt Groß and Philipp Schmitt collaborated with geographer Raphael Reimann to select 486,713 starting points on a 26,503,452 square kilometers grid of Europe to map all roads leading to Rome.
They developed an algorithm that determines the optimal route from any given point in Europe to Rome.
