Locations of photos with food hashtags were obtained from Instagram API. The dataset includes locations of over 100,000 photos posted on Instagram with relevant tags between 10th and 18th of March 2015. The bubbles are sized proportionally to the volume of photos for a given food tag and colored based on the given food’s continent of origin.
NYC brings home the bacon
Almost 8% of bacon tags came from New York City. London, LA, Sydney, and Melbourne follow to form the top 5.
