The most affordable city was Pittsburgh, requiring a salary of just $32,390.09 to afford a median-priced home of $140,500. Pittsburgh was followed by Cleveland ($34,433.95), Cincinnati ($37,179.18), Detroit ($38,541.83) and Atlanta ($40,092.12).

The least affordable city was San Francisco, requiring a salary $161,947.60. San Diego was followed by San Diego ($109,440.97), Los Angeles ($92,091.89),  Boston ($87,556.61) and New York City ($86,215.44).
