There are over 30,000 census neighborhood in England, known as LSOAs, having a minimum population of 1000 and an average of 1500. They are ranked from 1 to 100 and coloured accordingly, based on their Index of Multiple Deprivation score. The Index allows to identify the most and least deprived areas in England and to compare whether one area is more deprived than another.
On devices equipped with a mouse, on hover, the quick view gadget on the left shows the relative position of a neighborhood according to the rank of its Index of Multiple Deprivation. The lower the value is, the more deprived the neighborhood.
