Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one’s death. Risk factors encompass psychic disturbances such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, or alcohol and drug addiction.

Greenland is geographically and culturally separated and one of the coldest and least populated states worldwide with severe cold climates.

In addition, some researchers believe that the number of suicides is also affected by the lack of sunlight and vitamin D deficiency.
