The Gallup has surveyed people in nearly 150 nations, among other things, their everyday emotional experience. Their survey asks five questions: “Did you feel well-rested yesterday?” “Were you treated with respect all day yesterday?” “Did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday?” “Did you learn or do something interesting yesterday?” “Did you experience the following feelings during a lot of the day yesterday? How about enjoyment?”.
Gallup has summed up the average “yes” answers from respondents in almost every nation on the planet.
The color-coded key in the map shows the average rate of people who answered “yes.” Dark purple nations are the most emotional, yellow the least.
