Cattle, or cows (female) and bulls (male), are the most prevalent type of large domesticated ungulates animals. Cattle were domesticated from as few as 80 ancestors in central Anatolia, Levant, and Iran about 10.5 thousand years ago. Nowadays, cattle are usually raised as livestock for meat and milk. Sometimes they are used as riding and draft animals.
