African Americans are the largest racial minority, amounting to an estimated 12.7% of the total U.S. population. 55% of the African American population lives in the South.

Hispanic and Latino Americans amount to an estimated 17.8% of the population, making up the largest ethnic minority. 42% of Hispanic Americans live in the West.

The White, non-Hispanic or Latino population make up 61.3% of the nation’s total, with the total White population. Non-Hispanic Whites make up 79% of the Midwest’s population.

this really sucks and is in no way definitive or emplanatory of what includes “south”, “midwest” and “west”. it seems like theres the most amount of black people in the western states, past the misissippi river (based on the data) . Either the data or your verbal clarification is wrong.
