In many parts of the world (except some countries in the southern hemisphere), the summer season is considered the peak vacation period. Summer vacations are popular because they often coincide with school holidays, making it easier for families to plan trips. But summer is not only associated with warm and pleasant temperatures, but also with extremely hot temperatures in many places. So, I decided to create a world map that charts the highest temperatures ever recorded in different countries worldwide throughout the recorded history of weather observation.

The highest temperatures ever recorded
According to Wikipedia, the highest temperature ever reliably recorded on Earth was 56.7 degrees Celsius (134 degrees Fahrenheit), which was measured on July 10, 1913, in Death Valley, California, United States. This record-breaking temperature was measured at Greenland Ranch, which is now known as Furnace Creek Ranch. But according to the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, on September 13, 1922, a temperature of 58°C (136.4°F) was purportedly recorded at El Azizia (about 40 km south-southwest of Tripoli) in what is now contemporary Libya.
According to the world map, the ten countries with the highest recorded temperatures are as follows.

Temperature records have been broken in many countries worldwide in recent decades. Global warming advocates will especially appreciate the following map of the world.
During the 2010s, the most temperature records were registered.
Dates of the highest temperatures ever recorded | Number of countries |
---|---|
2010s | 102 |
2020s | 36 |
2000s | 32 |
1990s | 31 |

The month in which the highest temperature was ever recorded
Throughout the history of recording weather patterns in most northern hemisphere countries, they has expectedly recorded the highest temperatures in the summer months. Conversely, in the southern hemisphere, the highest temperatures have been recorded during the winter months.
Most of the landmasses are concentrated in the northern hemisphere, so it is not surprising that most of the highest record temperatures of the countries were recorded in the summer months. The highest number of records was recorded in July (54), followed by August (47) and June (23).
