The U.K. is the 21st most populated country in the world. England is having a significantly greater density than Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. About a 3ird of the population lives in England’s southeast. Over the past 200 years, England’s population has increased 5.4 times, Wales 4 times, Scotland 2.7 times. Over the same period, the population of the entire island of Ireland remained practically unchanged.
